The two productions of The Marlow Players (‘Relative Values’ and ‘Murder in an Ice Cold Manner’) are now behind us and we are organising the summer programme.

‘Relative Values’ enjoyed a huge success in Marlow and in France, so congratulations to all Cast and Crew for the splendid result of their hard work. Thanks to those members and friends who came along to support us.

Our Murder Mystery play was performed last Friday at Hambleden Village Hall and both audience and Players had a very enjoyable evening. Our audiences for these evenings tend to be on the small side, but they make up for it by their boundless enthusiasm. We are available for hire to any local groups and, so far, we have received interest from various WI and Rotary groups. Please spread the word if you know of any groups who may wish to be entertained one evening. (Contact Gloria on Gloria@kendrick-hurst.co.uk or go via the website.) Thanks to members and friends who came along to support us.

AGM next event is the AGM at 8.30 p.m. in The Studio on Thursday, 15th June. The Agenda is attached. Please also send Gloria an e-mail if you wish to nominate someone for the Anderson Award (for their significant contribution to The Marlow Players during the year). Refreshments will be served!

Hard on its heels is yet another big event, namely The Marlow Players’ 80th Anniversary Party in the Garden Room, Liston Hall from 7.30 – 10.30 p.m. on Saturday 17th June. ‘Black tie and posh frocks’ is the dress code – or as near as you like! We shall serve a welcome drink and food! Please bring a bottle (or two) for yourselves! Please book in advance, so we can organise catering. Contact Brian via the website (below) for tickets, £10 for members and £15 for non-members.

Please book your attendance here:

Party booking

Hall Barn, Old Beaconsfield

As in previous years, we plan to go to the Hall Barn estate in Beaconsfield Old Town on FRIDAY, 23RD JUNE to watch The Chiltern Shakespeare Company’s play: ‘Much Ado about Nothing’.  They are an excellent amateur group that forms annually, solely to perform a Shakespeare play.  The play is performed outdoors, but the audience is under cover (tarpaulin, but fairly cosy).  It is a beautiful spot if you’ve never been and we normally have a group picnic beforehand (bring your own food and drink), but this is not obligatory.  Alcoholic drinks and hot drinks are available to buy should you wish; you can also pre-order a posh picnic.  We usually arrive by about 6.30pm (I may well get there at about 6.00pm-ish to get a good picnic spot).  The play starts at 8.00pm.  I strongly recommend warm clothes and boots (not sandals as your feet will get cold!).  A blanket and a cushion are also a good idea.  It’s a fun, delightful evening, even in the rain! The actors get wet, but not the audience.

Tickets are £19.00 (no concessions on a Friday evening).  Please let me know as soon as possible if you wish to come (by Friday, 19th May) if you wish to come along, so I can book the tickets, as time is getting short. Unusually, this year, I need to collect the money before I book your ticket, so please may I have your ticket payment at the time you request a ticket? Thank you. please contact Hilary Cox email
