September newsletter

The autumn is upon us and we will be continuing to use zoom for now on a regular weekly basis. The committee met and decided that, sadly, we would not be able to rehearse in the studio until at least the new year. So the plan for now is to continue to record rehearsed plays, maybe two this autumn and offer to play them back to our public list. We have decided to avoid a true ‘live’ session due to the difficulty of managing the wider audience.

As a reminder, we have completed our webcasts and recordings – so if you did not have a chance to join the events, then look at the Events page where links to replays are available. Thanks to Andy for doing the editing for us. Details of the cast and crew are on there as well.

In September  we will continue to meet on a regular basis on Tuesdays using zoom. Zoom link details are below, and are the same as before. We have a programme of events everyone can join in with – usually meeting for around one hour or so. All sessions start at 8.00pm.

The Importance of Being Earnest seems to have met with approval from those meeting over the summer. The link to the Gutenberg version will be our text http://www.gutenberg.org/cache/epub/844/pg844.txt  I suggest people download it so that they can run it side by side with the screen. We will see who reads , but Andrew has a cast already in mind. The plan will be to record each act in turn.

AGM

If you missed the AGM, then details are posted on the members’ page area. Congratulations to Andy for the Anderson Award and Brian for the Back Stage award. If you need a copy of the Treasurer’s report, please contact Brian as we do not post this on the public website. Thanks to Andrew for sorting out the minutes etc.
