 Graham Evans

Stage Manager

Graham Evans

Graham has now returned to his rightful place as stage manager and has been an absolute boon

Assistant Stage Manager

Adelle Powell

Adelle is a new and welcome addition to The Players. She has no experience of amateur dramatics since leaving school, but has been a keen member of Graham’s team

 Elena Pond

Properties

Elena Spisto

Once again Ellie is backstage after appearing onstage as Marie-Louise Durham, the femme fatal in “The Constant Wife”.

Set Construction

Ciro and Sara Di Donna

The recently married Ciro and Sara are the unseen (by me at least) part of the backstage crew. On non-rehearsal nights they are busy building bits of set under Grahams beady eye.

 Abi-Jayne Buckley

Lighting

Abi-Jayne Buckley

Abi is another welcome addition to the backstage crew and is currently studying for her A level in Drama and thought it would be good experience to grips with a cutting edge group. I’m glad she had time to fit us in.

 Dean Silk

Sound

Dean Silk

As our normal sound man has decided to go diving in Cuba, Dean has kindly stepped in to help us out. Dean is the other half of Abi and Dean and is no mean rock guitarist

The Cast

(In Order of Appearance)

 Maura 2003

Renee Savage

Maura Ross

Maura is one of the longest serving members of the Marlow Players. Her first appearance was in Not Now Darling, in 1975 and she has appeared numerous productions ever since. Her recent plays include; “When We Are Married”, “Haywire”, “Waiting in the Wings”, “A murder is Announced”. “Hay Fever”, “Daisy Pulls it Off” and lastly as Barbara Fawcett in “The Constant Wife

 Giles Cox

Tim Fermor

Giles Cox

This is Gile’s first appearance not only for The Players, but, apart from a brief part in his company’s pantomime last Christmas, the first production ever. That will teach him to show off at work when our spies are watching!

Giles plays the part of Tim who joined Boris’ menagerie as the other half of Ginnette and Tim.

Let’s hope this doesn’t put him of acting for life!

 SuzeW

Ginnette Vincent

Suze Ward

Suze first appeared for The Players in 2004 as Alice Hobson in “Hobson’s Choice” and last appeared in “Kindly Leave the Stage”, another play within a play. She has also helped out backstage in numerous productions.

Tonight she plays the somewhat simple Ginnette, the current incumbent of Boris’ casting couch.

 GloriaK01 colour

Christa D’Amato

Gloria Kendrick

Gloria has been with The Players since 1997, I know as we joined at the same time. She has played a variety of roles for The Players, including backstage and she even summoned up the courage to direct the last production, “The Constant Wife”. I think she is enjoying this part of Christa too much; she has a license to be as bitchy as possible and has taken to it like a duck to water.

 Jennifer Major

Sophie Lawton

Jennifer Major

This is Jennifer’s sixth outing with the Players having first played the part of Maggie Hobson in the “Hobson’s Choice” and she last appeared in “The Constant Wife”, as the eponymous Constance.

The independent theme that has run through all her roles with The Players continues here as the bit part actress, Sophie, turns into a regular Miss Marple.

Harrison Bracewell

Robin Teasdill

Another new face for The Players, Robin made the mistake of mentioning within the earshot of one of the MP agents that he would like to try something completely different. No sooner had the words left his mouth that he found himself reading for a part in our latest production.

Harrison Bracewell has the air of Chuffer Dandridge, the old Shakespearian Actor Manager; he does everything but mention the white fiver that dear, dear Larry owed him.

 Brian Couling

Boris Smolensky

Brian Couling

Brian is in his 18th year with the Players and last appeared as Bernard Kersal in “The Constant Wife”. Over these last couple of decades, Brian has missed very few productions and spent most of those as the male lead.

As the egocentric Boris, Brian seems to have found a role he can revel in, so much so that rehearsals have been run with two directors. Unfortunately, he had the megaphone!

 DianaH34

Pat

Diana Hudson

Diana has been with The Players since 1993 and last appeared as flamboyant Judith Bliss in Noel Coward’s “Hay Fever”. The role of Pat is a very different part for Diana, T-shirts and jeans and disparaging of anything that actually involves acting; “I’m a stage manager, not a bloody actress!. Good to have you back Di.
