We are pleased to share the Spring newsletter from our Chairman, Andrew Stafford
Rehearsals for Peter Gordon’s hilarious Agatha Christie spoof, Murdered to Death have kicked of at a terrific pace and we are now in the Studio on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
We are delighted to have four new actors in the cast: Dan, Charlie, Olwen and David as well as Vi who was seen in our October Ghost Night and is making her debut in a full-length play. The rest of the team are old hands: Andy, Gloria, Hilary and Laura. Andrew is directing and appears as the Colonel.
David Choules has taken charge of the set, along with Brian, whilst Alison and Graham are providing sound and light. We are looking for a few more in the backstage area on the nights, and if anyone can help with set construction, at the weekends, we would love to hear from you.
We also would like a Props Master (or Mistress!). It is not a “proppy” play, but there are few essentials. Fortunately, we already have an elephant (or three) but an official in charge of these and setting them out would be great.
The cast will get into the Hall at Great Marlow School on Monday April 6th (probably in the early evening, as it is not a Bank Holiday, and the set should be up and running by Tuesday.
If anyone could supply some 1930s style (French) paintings for use on the set, we’d love to hear from you!
Alongside this, Gloria has assembled the cast for the offering to the French in May, and rehearsals for this will start at the end of April. This year it will be a Murder Mystery as part of a diner-spectacle in the Salle des Fetes in Marly.
Socially we have enjoyed a terrific Christmas Party in the Garden Room at Liston Hall, and a short social after the rehearsal on the last Thursday of the month. All going well.
