Summer Newsletter 2024

Summer is in its final few weeks and the Marlow Players have been using
the time between productions to get the studio ready for the busy year
ahead

President and Chairman, Andrew Stafford shares the latest news;

“The summer has been full of teamwork and achievement in lots of
areas.

We have gardened around the edge of our site, pruning the shrubbery and
trees, removing weeds and generally tidying up: we have renewed the
weatherproofing on the outside of the Studio, painted the doors and
windows, a real team effort and thanks to all those who helped out.

As well as all the maintenance work, the members found time to read
plays for potential productions, held a barbecue and a picnic, and
worked on our Calendar for next year so a busy time for everyone!

The new publicity subcommittee and our business administrator have
worked hard to come up with plans to widen local awareness of the
Players and the plans for 2025 are in place, including the possibility
of a second full stage production in November next year which is very
exciting.

The Marlow Carnival is on September 14th, we will need lots of help to
put up the gazebo at 8:30 am and then help to publicise during the day.
It’s a fun day, and we may get a spotlight as last year to perform on
the stage there.

Rehearsals have begun for the Royal Oak Murder Mystery night (19th
September) as well as the All Hallows Ghost evening (26th October) and
we are excited about these new productions and our upcoming open evening
on the 24th September.”

As we head into our Autumn season The Marlow Players looks forward to
welcoming old and new friends at one of our events.
Look out for more news on our upcoming productions and ticket sales for
the events which we expect to be very popular.
