  • Sat 25 th June: 1-6pm. Picnic in the grounds of Wittington House – this is the UK HQ of SAS Software, where Jennifer works. It’s on the banks of the Thames, between Danesfield House Hotel and Harleyford golf course. You can drive there or take a lovely 3 mile walk along the river from Marlow. Organiser: Jennifer Major
  • Sun 26 th June: Jennifer has recently joined Next Stage choir. Their repertoire is modern –mostly medleys from musicals with the occasional pop song thrown in, all done in 4 part harmony. If you fancy supporting Jennifer on her first public outing with the choir, they are doing a public performance at All Saints, Marlow. Contact- Jennifer Major
  • Tue 28 th June- Sat 2nd July: Henley Royal Regatta: Jossy will advise a date when we can watch Toby rowing in the Temple Cup for Oxford Brookes. We thought that the Players might like to jointly book a picnic space alongside the course. It’s £60 for a pitch, and it provides an opportunity to enjoy the Henley Regatta in a more tranquil environment mid-course, far from the madding crowd at the finish line.
  • Fri 8 th July: Chiltern Shakespeare’s performance of Romeo and Juliet at Hall Barn. 7:30pm. We’ll meet up there at 6:30 pm for a BYO pre-show picnic. We don’t yet have a volunteer to co-ordinate booking the tickets – it would be nice to sit together rather than book individually. Anyone willing to take this on? Either let the Hilary know or make your offer on our WhatsApp group.
  • Sun 31 st July from1 pm: Barbecue at Brian & Margaret Couling’s house. Bring something to drink, a plate (with food on it! E.g. salad or dessert) and/or something to chuck on the Barbie. Check in with Brian to let him know what you’re planning to bring so that we don’t end up with a million burgers and no salad. Or vice versa. Organiser Brian
  • Sun 14 th August – weather permitting. Canoe and picnic day paddling 2-3 person Canadian canoes from Henley to Marlow with a picnic break at Medmenham. This is a really lovely day of messing about in boats (canoes) on the river. We meet up at around 10am in Henley. Everyone pack a picnic, and we will find some kind volunteer to reunite the paddlers with their picnics when we get to our picnicking spot by the river in Medmenham. There will be a fee for the Henley Canoe Hire rental, but we can be grateful to Brian for getting us mates’ rates from his son, who runs the canoe rental business. Organiser: Brian
