Stage Manager

Brian Plested

Brian first joined us backstage in “Haywire” and has actually appeared onstage in “The Darling Buds of May”. For this production he has taken on the role of tea maker-in-chief at rehearsals, for which we are all very grateful.

 Graham Evans

Lighting

Graham Evans

Graham is a “Hobson’s Choice” debutant and has thrown himself in to all things technical backstage. He has even appeared in an acting role in “The Darling Buds of May”. For this production we has been sharing his time and talents with Marlow FM.

 Caroline Law

ASM

Caroline Law

Caroline has been with us since “The Darling Buds of May”; somebody had to be backstage while the rest of the crew were gallivanting on stage. Caroline attends to all those small details that make the bigger picture.

 Charlie Foord

Sound

Charlie Foord

Charlie, “Gadget” as he is affectionately known, joined the Players for the previous production, “Tons of Money”. Once more he has been producing “toys for the boys” and will probably be sitting in the audience running the sound from his iPhone.

The Cast

Brian Couling

René Artois

Brian Couling

Brian has been with the Players for many years and when the part of René turned up, he grabbed it with both hands, a bit like he does with Yvette, Mimi and Michelle. He has played many roles over the last few decades but I think he has really enjoyed this one.

Hilary Cox

Edith Artois

Hilary Cox

Hilary is another long standing member of the Players and brave enough to take on the role of Edith, one of the few roles you have to worry about hitting the wrong note accurately.

SaraDD01

Yvette

Sara Di Donna

Sara is our current secretary and has also been with the Players for some years. Her last outing was as the leading lady in “Tons of Money”. She then nipped off to have her second child and was back like a shot for some more thesping.

StaceyRhodes742

Michelle

Stacey Rhodes

Stacy has been involved in the theatre from an early age, training in Acting, Dancing and Singing and has a degree in Drama. Currently, she is Head of Drama at a grammar school and has directed many of her own ranging from Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ to the musical ‘Carousel.’ We welcome Stacy to the Marlow Players for her first performance.

PipR01

Mimi

Pip Stacey-Richards

Pip has also been off on maternity leave, but she took about 5 years to return. She last appeared in “The Constant Wife” as Contance’s younger sister. Here she plays René’s résistance bodyguard and she assures me that all her moves are genuine as she has a black belt in origami.

GuyB01

Colonel von Klink

Guy Butler

Guy joined the Marlow Players last year and managed the props for the winter production of ‘Prescription for Murder’. This is Guy’s first role on the stage since school when he had a full head of hair.  Guy says that he is absolutely terrified but equally buzzing to perform to the good people of Marlow.

Jennifer Major

Helga Geerhart

Jennifer Major

Jen has been a regular with the Players since “Hobson’s Choice”. She last appeared as the Julia ‘The Merry Widow’ Moore in “Prescription for Murder” last November and now appears as the not so private, Private Helga Geerhart.

RichardM01

Alberto

Richard Mauldon

Richard is another itinerant from Maidenhead, although he first appeared for the Marlow Players in “Tons of Money” as one of the many long lost cousins. We needed a subtle actor with a light touch to play the part of Alberto Bertorelli and he was the man who immediately sprang to mind.

Andy Scott

Herr Flick

Andy Scott

Andy started acting five years ago in Maidenhead and has had roles in Shakespeare (Lysander and Don Pedro), Chaucer, has played a dog, a suicidal cliff walker (called Cliff!!) a salesman and also appears regularly in panto.”’ Allo, ‘Allo” is his first outing with the Marlow players.

David Choules

Crabtree & General Schmelling

David Choules

David is a long standing member of the Maidenhead Drama Guild. His favourite appearances were in “Much Ado about Nothing”, “A Comedy of Errors”, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, “Loot” and most recently as Tony Lumpkin in “She stoops to Conquer”. Funniest moment on stage was losing a moustache mid-sentence!  He has played extras in Mid-summer murders a few times (they need the bodies!).

TonyB80

Leclerc

Tony Bew

Tony is the current chairman of the Players and has once more selected a small, scene steeling part with which to upstage the rest of the cast; his last was as Giles the gardener in “Tons of Money”.

James Taylor

Gruber

James Taylor

We owe the support of the Maidenhead branch of the Marlow Players to James, who came to us first in 2005 and has regularly appeared since. He last played the lead in “Tons of Money”. He specifically wanted the part of Hubert Gruber. A bit odd, that.

WendyGammond53

Mama/Pianist

Wendy Gammond

Wendy last appeared for the Players in 2008 in “Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime” but she has been involved in most of our productions as a prompt, which is a fairly stressful task. Here, she is promoted to extra. Thanks Wendy.

SoniaW01

Résistance/Peasant

Sonia McPherson

Sonia has been with the Players for a few years, but until now has not actually got on the stage. She has now, so welcome to treading the boards Sonia.

Brian Plested

German Soldier

Brian Plested

Although Brian is the stage manager, which he is more often than not, he always seems to get an Hitchcockian walk on part. You’d better keep a sharp lookout, otherwise you will miss him
